DAY 1: IN THE BOOKS.

And what a day it was!

Our first day back at LAPCS was filled with energy, excitement, new beginnings, and plenty of familiar faces back in the building. From morning arrival to classrooms, conversations in the hallways, getting reacquainted with teachers and classmates, and settling into the rhythm of a new school year, Day 1 gave us plenty to celebrate.

Today was about more than just getting back into a routine. It was about reconnecting, building community, and starting the year together.

We’re officially off and running. Here’s a little photo dump from Day 1!

Welcome back, LAPCS. Let’s make this a great year. #LeonesPride

Today, our staff came together for ALICE Training with the Lancaster Bureau of Police.

Our team learned valuable strategies and information to help us be better prepared to keep our students, staff, and school community safe. We appreciate the time, knowledge, and expertise shared with us throughout the training.

We learned a lot, asked great questions, and even had a great time together along the way!

Thank you to the Lancaster Bureau of Police for partnering with us and helping our team stay prepared, informed, and ready to respond.

PARENTS & FAMILIES: PLEASE READ!

A recent fire in our city on August 5 injured two people and destroyed two homes. The reported catalyst was a squishy dumpling toy, prompting a safety warning from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

PLEASE DO NOT SEND THESE TOYS TO SCHOOL. They may be counterfeit and can contain flammable chemicals that can cause burns, injuries, and fires. Social media challenges involving freezing, heating, or eating these toys are also extremely dangerous and should NEVER be attempted.

Parents, please check your children’s toys:
• Watch for strong chemical odors, leaking, stickiness, or tears
• Be cautious of unusually cheap products or poor-quality packaging
• Keep these toys away from heat, microwaves, flames, and hot vehicles
• If a child experiences a rash, hives, burns, or difficulty breathing, stop using the product immediately and seek appropriate medical attention
• If you have one, please keep it at home and do not send it to school.

Disposal: Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority recommends double-bagging these toys and placing them in your regular household trash.

NOT ALLOWED AT SCHOOL.

We appreciate our families helping us keep our students and school community safe. 🦁❤️

• Science: (Grade 8 only): April 28 (Tuesday)***
